Two performance opportunities
« on: September 07, 2013, 12:34:20 AM »
Hi all,

Some of my fellow musicians have asked if I had any chamber music available. Unfortunately, chamber music is not my oeuvre.

They were very open to the possibility, however, of rehearsing and quite possibly performing any works that I could bring to them. To this end, I am willing to make any works you may want to put together available - I'm more than happy to print out parts/scores for you and to give them to my colleagues. I also have a decent audio recorder and could arrange to provide you a recording of your piece.

If you'd like to submit any works, please let me know. The two ensembles are:
  • Woodwind quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon)
  • Horn quartet (four horns)

I would put each ensembles' ability level at the semi-professional/professional level.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Wow! I don't have anything that fits that instrumentation (or easily adaptable), but that's a VERY generous offer! I hope someone takes you up on it!

Thank you for your kind offer, Flint. I don't have anything at the moment (the closest is a clarinet quartet recently performed in Japan), but I will certainly keep your offer in mind for the future.

I have a short woodwind quintet. (Suite miniature no.5)

I'll have to see if the parts are ready. I seem to remember having had a bit of trouble with the parts because one of the movements is rather "perpetuum mobile" and left little room for page turns.

if your friends want to hear it, I can supply you with a link to hear it. I also have (but will have to dig it up, it's SOMEWHERE in this mess I call a home) a "live" recording done by a friend and his quintet. If I do find it, I'll transfer that recording to my website.

Hi Flint,

I have a woodwind quintet.  Wrote it a while back ... it's a Pastoral.

I am cleaning up the score.  Where do I send it for review?

any news on this front?
I don't really mind if they hated my piece.

No word yet - I'm not in this concert, so I haven't had a chance to catch up with the quintet quite yet.
