Soundtrack for Silent Movie
« on: February 21, 2021, 09:46:04 AM »
Here's a composition completed in 2012 and perform in 2013.   I later used it as a soundtrack.

The title of the work is "The Arcade".

The silent movie clip ... is from "Sunrise" 1927.

I don't either but  the link worked anyway. Have you given it a try?

Mark,

That is an absolutely great sounding piece of music. Very evocative, unusual orchestration.

I have to say that for the first part of the movie, the music made me expect something other than a comedy, something surreal.

Last year I wrote a piano score for Chaplin's film The Kid, but because of Covid the annual piano festival here was cancelled.

Cheers,
Jer

I finally got the link to work after adjusting my NoScript settings.  At any rate, as Jerry said, it is an evocative score that captures the feeling of a circus.
