The Challenges Section
« on: June 26, 2020, 04:01:22 PM »
Welcome to this section of our forum.

It is, above all else, a place to post educational/instructional quizzes/challenges, a place to apply the technical materials that we learn here. Challenges should be learning challenges, and something that is relatively accessible to all forum members, from the most advanced to the absolute beginners.

From now on, let's try and keep it to that format.

Things that belong in this section are, for example:
  • harmonize a set melody, with specific goals set (for example, the application of a contemporary technique that has been discussed on the forum.)
  • add harmony to a melody (like point 1. above, with certain prerequisites established from the start.)
  • write a very short piece with a set goal in mind (for example, applying a structural concept, or harmonic concept, or specific instrumentation/orchestration.)
By examining previous posts in this forum section you will get a good idea of what is considered appropriate.
