I removed this posting ..... still not pleased with piano accompaniment.

Will re post at a later date.

I enjoyed this a lot. A couple of small things in terms of your score: some of the rests, where there are multiple voices, overlap with notes and dynamics, etc. Once or twice the dynamics also clash with note stems. That's what I picked up, but I'm sure you were going to clean it up already.

Thanks for the listen.  Glad you enjoyed the work.

I will attend to the engraving and clean it up.

Okay ... I addressed those measures that "Irked Me".

I also cleaned up the engraving.

Okay here is an update ... just a start - maybe more - on changing the viola line as per suggestions given in the last review.

Feedback is eagerly anticipated.  Am I on the correct path here?  Is the mood consistent the lines well thought out with the proper momentum to the conclusion and handing off to the next theme/section?

Mark,

I love what you're doing from bar 34-on.

The interplay between viola and piano is more pronounced than in the preceding part. The tone lightens up and it sparkles.

The piano part is also easier to play. I'm not a good sight reader and can't play it on sight in tempo, but I had no trouble getting through it.

Cheers,
Jer

Alright,

Here's my second reiteration of the initial theme.

My goal is to accomplish 3 things:  consistent mood/texture, a more clearly defined beginning, middle and end, with building towards one climax.

Comments always appreciated.

Mark,

I still like the last section best, when a real dialog starts happening.

Okay .... looking feedback on my work.  I most probably will meet with my mentor later this week.

Again, I want to create a continuous lyrical line with a build up towards the end giving hints/rhythmic motifs along the way.

All reviews most welcome.

I think you should develop measures 31-34. That phrase really got me as having great potential.

I agree with Jer about the dialog in the last half minute. Prior to that, piano blows on the downbeat...I hear them as a bit overwhelming and they perhaps make the music sound a little square.
