Alan Belkin's Double Concerto for Cello, Violin, and Orchestra
« on: January 18, 2020, 12:52:36 PM »
Alan has released a new video on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOBkBTIE1gw&t=0s

Unfortunately, there is little information on the video page  about the piece other than the name of the soloists. So you will have to do some research to find out how new the piece is, or what the orchestra was.

I greatly enjoyed the music.

Alan has been so generous with his Youtube channel, not only sharing his compositions there, but a great series of lectures on music theory. And he is a member of the Canadian Composers' Cabal like Michel.  So he deserves a little promotion! Now if we could get our own symphony orchestra to stop playing so much Beethoven and instead perform one of Alan's works.

the double concerto is his very latest work. it was finished some time in the last few months.
