How's the musician ordain'd to write for
lute all'f a sudden, Lusting like the silk-
worm's urged to commence weaving its cocoon.

There, I fixed your iambic pentameter. (Well, at least there are 10 syllables per line. Iambic?, not so much and the rhyme scheme, well, .... it's a work in progress....

(All in fun, of course! My poetic skill is greatly constrained to the occasional Haiku and limerick.)

Thanks a lot for the hand, Terence! :)  That one with the wrong meter may stay buried for it is apparently a hoax. It is said the original is buried somewhere else and the section reads

How is the musician ordain'd to write
for lute all'f a sudden, midst of the night
Lusting like the silkworm's urged to commence
weaving its cocoon in with bount'ous delight

but I doubt that one too, considering the bizarre rhyme and poor feet structure. :)

My favorite snarky self-referencing haiku:

Five syllables here.
Seven more syllables here.
Are you happy now??

That one was really nice, Jer! I guess it's a limerick, having looked it up after seeing it in Terence's message. As to "slam" in a poetry context, I had to look it up, too. So, if there is going to be one I will be in the audience watching and listening. :)
