From Beyond the Grave- Violin and Accompanist
« on: May 14, 2019, 01:35:12 PM »
So far, I think this is my greatest work. The piece is supposed to depict the line between life and death with the voices of the dead being audible.

The piece begins with a cadenza in d minor and then transitions to a minor where it stays for the rest of the current piece. Near the end, before the piano takes over, the chord progression changes from i-iv-i-vii* to i-ii-V-vii*/iv-i-vii*. This occurs over two measures and brings a light bit of modulation to differentiate this B section.

Hopefully, you all enjoy

Well the thematic material was consistent and its progression evident.

The piano accompaniment goes well with the work.

Overall ... a more comprehensive and coherent work.

Keep on composing.  8)

Medievalwarfare,

You might consider making the piece more transparent by opening up those block chords. I think more resonance and air would better serve the comp against the violin. Instead of playing unison notes in the left and right hands, find places to play sixths and tenths.

Why donít you post the violin score?

Cheers,

Jer

As you suggested, I uploaded the sheet music for the solo violin. Also, I will consider the different voicing ideas.
