El Circo de Ninos
« on: November 07, 2018, 01:59:46 PM »
Okay ............

Here's the completed version of the work.  ;D

All suggestions most welcome.

Some minor tweaks and I cleaned up the score (although I am sure there are still errors  :(.)

Mark

PS: I'm going to send it to my music Director - spoke to him today.
      Hope springs eternal.

One more thing .... I'm have been trying to get a private composition mentor for years.
It is quite frustrating to say the least.  No luck.  :'(

Hi all and those that followed this thread.

Here is the new ending segment of my work.

The original was just too anemic to say the least!  ::)

What do you think?

The old ending for El Circo was indeed a bit anticlimactic. Your new one is better ... you could even make it longer and more raucous, I think.  It's a circus, after all!

Much better!

I agree with Jay. The exciting build at the end could be extended. I want to see the whole tent collapse around the spectacle.

Cheers,

I finally had some time to listen to this.

The finished work is quite good and the orchestration is well done. I liked it. I particularly liked the moorish/middle eastern passage.

I do think that you need additional bow marking in the strings. In a live performance a lot of the string lines will be played 'detache' as currently notated and will probably sound more disjointed than the computer performance.
