Anxiety for String Quartet; my first string quartet
« on: March 16, 2017, 10:00:47 PM »
Hello everyone!

Quite a while back a posted an early-ish draft for the first movement of this string quartet. I'm excited to say that I finished up writing the quartet back in February and managed to get a reading session of it with a great quartet. I've since made a few changes here and there to it (so the scores won't match the recordings exactly), but nothing too major.

I just wanted to post to share and to gather any feedback all of you might have, I'm not a string player and this is my first quartet, but I think the part-writing itself works quite well on the instruments (at least the quartet didn't complain too much...  ;)).

The audio files are quite large, but you should be able to stream them from the dropbox website itself.

Looking forward to hear from all of you!

Diego, I enjoyed listening to the exciting live performance of your string quartet.  The musicians did a great job! After the first two anxiety-provoking movements, I was surprised how relaxing the last movement was, with its folk music flavor.  At any rate, nice work!
