why am I having a problem loading an attachment?

Trying to load an mp3 : 7mb.....Can't!

Possibly because it's just past the upper size limit for attachments.
I tried posting a 10mb file and it gave me an error, but a 5.9mb didn't.

We will have to wait for Ron to check on this.
Sometimes it's also your service provider that has trouble handling a certain size of file and it times out before actually transferring the file.

I decreased it to 5.7 mb...works.

But how do I work around much larger files....of mp3 at the lowest compressed denominator and still above 20 mbs

The way I do it is to store the file elsewhere, then post a link to it. (I don't know the limits off hand--just got in and I'm very tired. I'll check it tomorrow.)

Okay, I've had some sleep and checked. There  is no limit size on attachments. From the forum settings I can't see any reason why you can't attach a large mp3 file.

I can't think that our host would be the problem either, because my personal web site is on the same host and I have never run into a problem posting mp3 files on my personal web site, or in the hidden folder I use to set up files for linking to.

If there's no limit, the server may simply have timed out before the transfer was done for some reason. Uploading large files are sometimes painful when the internet gods are in a bad mood.
