Title: Reflexions album
Post by: andreipoll on March 19, 2019, 02:32:40 AM
Hi all,

Nice to meet you - and this is my first post here, so I am really humbled.
I have recently completed a studio instrumental album called Reflexions, and wanted to discuss with you if yo find it appealing / interesting / some advises for the future development, feedback etc.

I guess it would be okay if I post the link to the album? If not, happy to do otherwise...
There we go https://reflexions.hearnow.com/ (https://reflexions.hearnow.com/)

Update: as advised, I upload an mp3 of one track from the album. The track is called Rain.
Best regards,
Andrey

Andrey,

Welcome to the forum.

It would be helpful for us ... to be of assistance  - for you - to choose 1 work for discussion.

Please post the score for the work alongside the mp3 from your album.

In this fashion we can better understand your work and intent.

Thank you.

Mark

This is absolutely not my style of music.
That said, the "bach" piece is most definitely not a "fugato".
A fuga is a form, not a style.

Andrey,

Welcome to the Forum.

As they say, chacun ŗ son goŻt.

To cover the points you asked for, I have to be honest and say that I donít find the music appealing.

Itís interesting in the sense that I donít know what to expect from one part to the next, but at the same time each section is not particularly interesting to me. The slow sections are repetitious and make me impatient for more development, and the high energy sections feel like an assault.

I think a lot of the electronic material might go over in a club, for dancing, and might even lend itself to background for film.

For just sitting and listening, it doesnít engage me.

My advice for future development is to work on ... development. Write a theme that catches oneís attention and then develop it in a way that draws the listener in.

But as I say, to each his own.

Cheers,
Jer

Hey thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it, and agree with many points you have made.

Regarding the destiny of this music, except for the taste thing 😀, I have been thinking about it as a music for a contemporary ballet. There are some stories I imagined writing the music (hence the titles for the tracks), very raw of course.

Would you think that it might be a worthy idea to consider?

Thanks again!

Yes sir 😢😢😢 i know it now, having released it. Shame on me, really. I thought Fugato was a free form of fuga (more free than it turned out to be). I Aswear I asked several people about the titles, no one said a thing!
Will change it now

Actually, I liked "Rain." However, I am waiting to see the score.
