Reharmonization 2 - Minor Chords
« on: September 30, 2016, 01:52:00 PM »
Greetings friends,

This Reharmonization installment addresses:

1. Reharmonizing Minor Chords
2. Line Cliché (descending and ascending lines on minor chords)
3. Half Diminished Chords as substitutes for minor II chords.
4. Reharmonizing II Chords as Slash Chords (hybrid chords)
5. Changing II-V to V of V.

These are great techniques with which to add color, variety, and freshness to your composition or your reharmonization of other compositions.  Again, the attached file is Finale format and there is a free download, NotePad, that will play this attachment at: https://www.finalemusic.com/products/finale-notepad/   By the way, a chord symbol with a triangle ∆ is equivalent to Maj7 (i.e. Cm∆ = Cm(maj7).  I hope you find this posting interesting and useful.
Hold gently the hearts of those you love. For once they are gone, you will shed a thousand tears for each one you caused and the memory of each callous moment will be your companion.   Saltamontes

I've put this on my reading list for tomorrow; looking forward to it! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
